The door to happiness opens from the inside out.

Psychological counselling or psychotherapeutic care?

Psychological counselling

In psychological counselling I focus on a client’s specific and clearly defined problem, helping them find their own resources to solve the problem and support resources naturally available them, broaden their view of the possibilities of tackling the problem, providing expert information, advice and teaching necessary new skills. This is mostly a short-term form of support (1-10 sessions).

Psychotherapeutic care

Psychotherapy focuses on the treatment of mental conditions and diseases using psychological means. It is also a useful tool in the treatment of some physical difficulties and relationship problems. It works with the whole structure of personality and its influence on the current difficulties. Compared to counselling, it goes into greater depth. An important medicinal means of psychotherapy is the relationship with the therapist. It provides safety, respect, understanding, empathy and confidentiality as the basis for starting the healing processes.

Supportive psychotherapy is focused on accompaniment, rather than on treatment and change, helping the client to deal with a difficult life situation or problems that they cannot or will not change.
